AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) approves financial assistance totaling $41.2 million for water and wastewater projects.

• The Sharyland Water Supply Corporation (Hidalgo County) received $35.9 million for water system improvements. The corporation will relocate approximately 26.5 miles of waterlines and make improvements to two water treatment plants to improve function, provide redundancies, and increase total treatment capacity.
• The Millersview-Doole Water Supply Corporation (Concho, McCulloch, Runnels, and Tom Green counties) received $2.5 million for water system improvements. The corporation will construct a new treatment system and chlorine dioxide system. If funds are available, the corporation will also make improvements at its pump station sites.
• The City of Bartlett (Bell and Williamson counties) received $1.9 million for wastewater system improvements. The city will complete the planning and design work to construct a new wastewater treatment plant, rehabilitate or replace approximately 10,000 linear feet of gravity sewers and 20 manholes, and replace the Evie Street Lift Station with a duplex submersible lift station. The city will also develop an asset management plan.
• The Arimak Water Supply Corporation (Kerr County) received $975,023 for water system improvements. The corporation will install a radium reduction system and variable frequency drive pumps at two well locations and replace ground storage tanks with a new 20,000-gallon ground storage tank.
