ATLANTA, TX — The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) announces the Atlanta District is the recipient of the 2024 Texas Bluebonnet Safety Award.
Atlanta District Engineer Rebecca Wells and Safety Officer J.J. Singleton were presented the award by TxDOT Executive Director Marc Williams and Wade Miller, Past President of the Associated General Contractors of Texas (AGC of Texas).
“Safety is our mission each and every day at work,” Wells said. “We are so pleased that we were able to work all of 2024 with no injuries, no incidents, and no lost time. It is our expectation and our goal every single year as we carry out our extensive workload. Getting home at the end of every day to our families is priority one.”
TxDOT, along with the AGC of Texas, award the Texas Bluebonnet Safety Award to organizations taking steps to proactively lower incident rates to zero. The program compares the organization’s safety record with other comparable entities.
The Texas Department of Transportation is responsible for maintaining 80,000 miles of road and for supporting aviation, maritime, rail, and public transportation across the state.
