Both of Kopplow’s recent industrial projects are owned by Baltisse-Ackerman & Co. Commercial Development. The completed Doerr Lane Logistics Center is leased to MEI Rigging & Crating, LLC, and Quality Custom Distribution Services, Inc. The Corporate Drive Industrial Complex in Selma is expected to be completed by May 2024.
“We're seeing a surge in the demand for industrial warehouses and distribution centers in our local market, which aligns with national trends,” said Tom Green, President of Kopplow Construction. “Companies are adapting to evolving consumer habits. Traditional office space construction is static, and our growth is in industrial and medical complexes, particularly along major interstate highways like I-35 and I-10. Fortunately, San Antonio is well-positioned for this growth.”
Green further highlighted the importance of early involvement in projects. “We have been most successful when we are part of the project from the start, as we were with these two projects for Baltisse-Ackerman," he said. "By engaging with the owner and design team early on, we can identify cost-saving opportunities that benefit the entire project.”
“In today’s market with supply chain and construction cost issues, design and construction efficiency are important in making a development work. This is especially true in industrial development,” said Jeff Bryant, Senior Vice President and Principal at Ackerman & Co. “Kopplow worked with the design team through important design decisions to ensure we developed a quality product at the right cost. During construction, their focus on project details resulted in quality projects for both of our developments. They also helped work with local municipalities and utility providers to keep the project on schedule. Kopplow Construction has proven to be the right partner to work with on our industrial projects, and we look forward to continuing to work with them on future developments.”
