TxDOT Announces New Maintenance Division Director, Stevenson
Stevenson received his civil engineering degree from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1994 and his Professional Engineer’s license in 2004. After serving for four years in the U.S. Army, Stevenson joined TxDOT as a Construction Inspector in El Paso West Area Office in April of 1999. Before being named District Maintenance Engineer in 2011, Stevenson spent time in the district design and maintenance sections. In April of 2016, he was promoted to the Yoakum District Director of Operations, where he oversaw responses to the Tax Day Flood (2016), the Memorial Day Flood (2016), and Hurricane Harvey (2017).
In February of 2018, Stevenson was appointed to the Deputy Director of the Maintenance Division where he was responsible for the development of several SOPs, assisted with the implementation of materials purchasing through maintenance contracts, and supported the oversight of the statewide maintenance operations budget. Most recently, Stevenson provided statewide support to several emergency events, including the September/October 2018 floods, Tropical Storm Imelda, and most recently, Hurricane Hanna.
