Okruhlik brings over 20 years of experience in the heavy highway/civil industry. He graduated with his degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M University and began his career as a Field Engineer. He has held roles from Estimator to Senior Project Manager, and most recently, was Senior Vice President for a general contractor in Austin. During this time, he led the creation and development of the company’s infrastructure division from the ground up, overseeing their operation throughout the state.
“Darren brings a wealth of experience with him into this new role,” said Joe Dooley, Sundt Senior Vice President and Texas Regional Manager. “He has already proven himself to be an asset in helping us pursue and execute work in the Austin area.”
Sundt has 50 years and $3 billion of project experience in Texas. Sundt is currently working on the 183 North Mobility Project and Dam 101 for the Upper Brushy Creek Water Control and Improvement District in the Austin area. Sundt has offices in El Paso, Dallas, and San Antonio.
