AUSTIN, TX — Huitt-Zollars announces that Rey Gonzalez, PE, has joined the company as a Vice President and Managing Principal of the Austin office. Gonzalez will be responsible for managing the daily operations and staff of the Huitt-Zollars Austin office. Additionally, he will lead and direct business development efforts for municipal and land development clients in the Central Texas region.
Gonzalez brings over 21 years of experience in design, program management, project management, and construction of many public infrastructure civil engineering projects, as well as private land development projects including site plans and subdivisions throughout Central Texas. His design expertise includes roadways, water and wastewater utilities, drainage, parks, and site development. His more notable clients include the cities of Austin and Buda as well as Travis and Williamson counties.
Gonzalez earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas and Oklahoma. He is active in the local engineering community as a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Chi Epsilon Civil Engineering Honor Society.
