Pfluger Architects Announces Promotions of Six Individuals
The Board of Directors has promoted Derek Pennant-Jones, MBA, to Senior Associate. Pennant-Jones is Pfluger’s Controller and has over 20 years of experience in accounting and finance. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Texas at Austin, then received a Master of Business Administration with a focus in business from Indiana University. Pennant-Jones is a strategic financial planner, and Pfluger is benefitting from his financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting expertise.
The Board of Directors has also named the following individuals Associates of the firm:
Frank Amaro Jr., AIA, is a Construction Administrator in Pfluger’s San Antonio office. Amaro's historic preservation and adaptive reuse work includes the 1857 General Land Office Building in Austin, the oldest surviving state government building in Texas. A graduate of Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Architecture, Amaro brings 38 years of experience to Pfluger. He has served many Bexar County-area clients, including North East ISD, Northside ISD, and Comal ISD.
Heidi Collins, AIA, is a Project Architect in Pfluger’s Austin office. Her passion is environmentally responsible design, evident in her work on projects like the LEED Gold San Gabriel Campus for Austin Community College. Collins received her bachelor's degree in environmental design from Miami University and has worked with Pfluger for over 10 years. Her experience includes education, commercial, historic preservation, residential, and renovation projects.
Lindsey Milligan, RID, IIDA, is a Senior Interior Designer who has worked on some of the most acclaimed projects the firm has produced. Milligan received a bachelor's degree in interior design and a minor in art history from The University of Texas at Austin, then went on to get a Master’s in Architecture at The University of Texas at San Antonio. In her 14 years with Pfluger, Milligan has developed an understanding of color relationships that enhances her designs.
Heather A. Rule, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, is a Project Architect in Pfluger’s Austin office and brings more than a decade of experience in phasing, research, and international project design. Rule graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in architecture and then received her Master of Architecture with a Latin American Architecture Certificate from The University of Texas at Austin. She was a Fulbright Research Fellow and worked with women in Ecuador to investigate “Women’s Agency in the Built Environment.”
Joan Silva is the Office Manager for Pfluger’s San Antonio office and has been with the firm for 20 years. She supports the San Antonio team, along with having extended corporate responsibilities. Silva's project knowledge is encyclopedic, and her organizational skills make that knowledge readily accessible. In addition to her many hats, Silva also plans all corporate events, including the annual, company-wide Pfluger Pfamily Retreat.
